Luxury Hotels for your wedding night
If you’re looking to spoil yourself and experience what is perhaps the most luxurious 5* castle hotel in all of Ireland, then the 1.5hr drive (100km) from the Cliffs of Moher to Adare Manor after your wedding ceremony will be most worth it! The entire property was renovated in 2017 and is now bigger and better than ever. Today the hotel has a total of 104 bedrooms with rates starting at €335/night for a Classic Room.
A close second contender for one of the most lavish 5 star hotels near the Cliffs of Moher, it’s advantage over Adare Manor is the shorter driving distance. Dromoreland Castle is located 1hr (52km) away from the Cliffs of Moher and just a mere 15km from Shannon Airport. This hotel has a total of 97 bedrooms with rates starting at €252/night for the Queen Anne Classic room.
This noteworthy 5 star hotel is located approximately 45 mins (39km) from the Cliffs of Moher main visitors site and Hag’s Head. It’s a stunning modern hotel with 47 rooms, picturesque views over the Atlantic ocean and excellent tee time (for those who are into golf). Rates start at €195/night for the Classing Links Room. We also recommend to consider Trump International Doonbeg as a Plan B location for your ceremony in case of incremental weather, as well as a place to host your reception after a ceremony on the Cliffs of Moher.
This fantastic 4 star hotel is the closest option for luxury accommodation near the Cliffs of Moher. It is located in the quaint village of Ennistymon, just 20mins (14km) drive away from the Cliffs of Moher. Falls Hotel has a total of 160 rooms and with rates starting at €115/night for a Double Room, this is an extremely affordable luxury accommodation near the Cliffs of Moher.
Located 30 mins (24km) drive away, the Armada Hotel Spanish Point is one of our favorite hotels to recommend to our couples getting married at the Cliffs of Moher or Hag’s Head. Besides being affordable (rates start at €160/night for a Double room), this hotel has a lovely dedicated ceremony room which overlooks the Atlantic ocean, providing a lovely Plan B in case or rainy weather on your wedding day.
This 4 star hotel is a sister property of the 3 star Hotel Doolin located in the heart of Doolin village. We have decided to leave Hotel Doolin out from this list due to it’s popularity as a wedding venue for the locals, therefore being seldom available for individual room bookings. But do give it a shot anyway – you might get lucky!
This is another one of our top picks for luxury wedding accommodation near the Cliffs of Moher. Gregan’s Castle is a real hidden gem, not found on any hotel aggregator website and often booked out, but such an excellent choice if you get lucky with the dates! It’s also a true paradise for foodies, as the hotel houses a multiple award-winning gourmet restaurant on-site. This boutique hotel has 24 individually decorated rooms, exercises a no-TV’s policy and charges upwards of €200/night for a Small Classic Double Room.
Warning: As all the above properties are also popular wedding venues in their own right, so we strongly advise you to notify the hotel that you are intending to stay with them for your wedding. As wedding hotels exercise a strict one-wedding-per-day policy, they do not like being surprised and seeing another bride walking through their lobby when they have a wedding booking on the same day – even if you’re not actually getting married at the property itself! To avoid any unpleasant consequences, check in advance directly with the hotel.

Accommodation within walking distance to Cliffs of Moher
If you’re looking to stay as close as possible to the main Cliffs of Moher visitors site, then here are our top recommendations for places to stay that are within a 30 minute walking distance to the landmark. Although we don’t recommend walking to the cliffs on your wedding day!
This is perhaps the closest property south of the Cliffs of Moher. It closed for renovations in 2018 and will be reopening in June 2019. It’s located 1.7km south from the main visitors site. Around the corner from Moher Lodge B&B, you will also find Atlantic View B&B and Kates Country Cottage (sleeps 6). Staying at one of these properties will add another 0.5km and 0.7km to your walk.
Ramblers Rest is located 1.7km north from the main visitors site of the Cliffs of Moher. Walking just another few meters up the road you will find a cluster of four more properties: Island View Bed and Breakfast, Salt Cliff Cottage (sleeps 6), B&B Ocean View and the Storyteller’s Cottage (sleeps 4).
Self-catering options for two
This gem of a place was discovered by one of our past couples, Jessica & David, who eloped in Ireland on the Hag’s Head side of the Cliffs of Moher. They booked the cottage for a couple of days and used it both as their base for getting ready on the morning of the wedding, as well as their accommodation on the wedding night. The cottage provides the ultimate hideaway for eloping couples. It’s located well off the main road, with only three other neighbouring houses, one of which is The Blue Stonecutter’s Cottage – a “twin brother” of the red cottage. Both cottages are charming and very cosy self-catering, one-bedroom homes that are perfectly suited for two. So if you’re looking for an authentic Irish experience for your elopement in Ireland, with a very reasonable price tag, then look no further than the Stonecutters Cottages as your accommodation near Cliffs of Moher.
Rates for both the Red and Blue cottage are €95/night (€115 between March – November) or €630 for a full week.
