Small ceremonies, big impact

I love organizing the following types of destination weddings in the most stunning venues that Germany, Austria, and Switzerland have to offer.

Elopements

Typically 2-12 people: The simplest form of wedding, where the focus is all on you and your love for each other.

Micro weddings

Typically 20-60 people: The ideal type of wedding if you want to include elements of a traditional celebration but with a pared-down guest list.

Intimate weddings

Typically 15-40 people: Choose an amazing private venue away from the rest of the world, so you can celebrate your marriage with just your closest loved ones.

Vow renewals

Typically 2-8 people: Germany, Austria, and Switzerland have some stunning destinations for renewing your original marriage vows, such as lakes, mountains, and forests.

Germany, Austria, and Switzerland are where breathtaking nature meets picturesque architecture. These are some of their highlights.

Bavaria

The soaring peaks of the Alps nestle next to lush valleys, sparkling lakes, and some of the prettiest castles you’ve ever seen. These include the fabled Neuschwanstein – the inspiration for Disney’s castle.

Got a date?

You may already have decided when you want to hold your wedding, but here are some tips if you're still thinking about it.

Weather

Summer is June to August, with temperatures reaching the mid 70s °F and warmer weather the further south you are. Spring and autumn are milder but still sunny. Winter temps dip well below freezing with lots of snow and ice, especially in the mountains, so remember to wrap up warm!

Budget

The peak wedding season in all three countries is May to October, coinciding with the warmer weather. If you've got a tighter budget, I'd recommend choosing a wedding outside of these times, as you'll benefits from cheaper wedding vendors – and have more choice, too!

Tourists

The mountains get busy in the winter and summer months, so the shoulder seasons of April, May, September, and October are when you'll share them with fewer tourists. The summer is also peak tourism season outside the mountains, so choose spring or autumn if you want smaller crowds.

Scenery

Alpine meadows are carpeted in flowers in the spring and summer, while in autumn the trees put on a show of vivid color – beautiful against the blue sky! In winter the snow and ice add a beautiful dimension to the always-picturesque scenery.

German, Austrian, and Swiss wedding ceremonies

While you can have a civil or religious ceremony in these countries, there are a lot of legal requirements involved, especially for Germany. I would recommend having your legal ceremony in your home country, and opting for a symbolic ceremony during your destination wedding. This can be infinitely personalized, happen either indoors or outdoors, and doesn’t require any paperwork. If you do have your heart set on having a civil or religious ceremony in Germany, Austria, or Switzerland, I have organized these types of weddings and am very happy to talk through the requirements with you in more detail.

FAQs

What are the differences between Germany, Austria, and Switzerland for a wedding?

There are naturally a lot of similarities between these three countries, as they share borders and languages, but each also has its own unique culture and vibe. In terms of budget, Switzerland is usually slightly more expensive than Germany and Austria. I’m really happy to talk about all this in our consultation call and find out which country would be the best for you in terms of venue, budget, and landscape.

This means I can focus on planning your wedding in Germany, Austria, or Switzerland, while Peach Perfect Weddings takes care of contracts, vendor payments, and other admin tasks.

Do I need to hire a wedding stylist or decorator?

While many of my couples opt for some floral arrangements, the advantage of all our venues is that they’re so pretty already, you won’t need any additional decoration!

The person behind the planner

Destination wedding planner talking to a bride at a wedding in Germany

Living in a beautiful Bavarian mountain town with my husband, I’m perfectly placed to plan your wedding in Germany, Austria, or Switzerland.

Best part of being a planner?

Building a relationship with my couples. It’s so important that I’m not a stranger on their wedding day – especially as I sometimes end up helping with tasks such as getting dresses buttoned up! Many of them still remain friends to this day.

Favorite part of a wedding day?

When the bride or groom is walking down the aisle to meet their partner, I can relax knowing everything has come together and it’s unfolding as I planned it!

Most memorable wedding?

Each of my weddings has been memorable in their own way. I feel so honored to have met lots of wonderful people from all over the world, and been trusted with planning such a personal event for them.

What makes your three countries so special?

How tradition is interwoven into everyday life, and that my couples can really enjoy a flavor of this. Things like cows with bells around their necks, and delicious local dishes that have been enjoyed for centuries. I’d definitely recommend trying käsespätzle, which is pasta layered with cheese and fried onions, then baked. It's the perfect mountain food!

Number of languages spoken?

I’m fluent in German, English, and Hungarian.

Hobbies and interests?

Being out in nature is super important to me, which is why I love living right next to the Alps so I can hike lots. I also enjoy yoga, reading self-help books, and travelling the world – Iceland, Japan, Brazil, and New Zealand are next on my travel list.

View from your office?

I can see the Alps and a beautiful lake straight out of my window.
