Story

Portugal is not as popular as Italy or France as a wedding destination, but Jena and Jake’s big day in Estoril proves that this gem along the Atlantic Ocean competes with the most popular European destinations as a wonderful location for the grandest of weddings.

Planning their destination wedding in Portugal

Jena and Jake are the type of couple that won’t settle for less. They wanted the best for their big day and the most special experience for their loved ones.

While planning their big day, Jena and Jake laid out their preferences and wishes with a clear vision and attention to detail. They knew the non-negotiables from the very start and communicated them well with our wedding planner in Portugal, Patricia.

They wanted their special day to be centered not only on the two of them but on the most important people in their lives. They had a relatively bigger guest list of 28 persons for their intimate wedding, consisting of parents, siblings, and closest friends. During the planning period, they sent specific designs for the wedding reception style, wedding favors, party props, and thank you cards. It was important for them to incorporate their personalities and styles into their wedding day and to make every part enjoyable for their loved ones.

They were also big on schedules, so they worked closely with Patricia to ensure that every activity was carefully plotted in a detailed timeline. The result was a seamless wedding with lots of Jena and Jake sprinkled throughout the event. Their guests enjoyed every minute of the day because the couple had their happiness in mind while planning the wedding.

About the wedding venue

Picking a grand venue that showcases the best features of Portugal was an important part of making Jena and Jake’s wedding unforgettable. The couple picked a palatial hotel with a rich history, situated near the beach as their wedding venue. The hotel is undeniably built for grand occasions, evoking elegance, royalty, and timeless beauty.

It’s nothing less than a royal venue on the inside, while the gardens and park outside scream nature. Above all, the hotel has been renovated several times to add the most luxurious amenities while preserving the building's original features.

The romantic wedding day that was

The whole gang was already in the hotel the day before the wedding, but they could not get enough of its beauty. While preparing for the ceremony, the guests walked inside and around the hotel to adore its surreal features and amenities.

The girls were with Jena as she dolled up for her wedding, while the groom and his men loosened up with a smooth liquor. When the couple was ready, they had a first look inside the hotel, and Jake could not erase the smile on his face seeing Jena in an elegant white, off-shoulder wedding dress. Much as he wanted to take his bride home, their guests were waiting in the garden.

Jena and Jake had a lovely ceremony in the hotel garden with the elegant facade of the building in the background. The weather cooperated with the newlyweds and gave them the chance to spend the whole afternoon outdoors for the ceremony and photoshoot.

The reception and photoshoot

Right after the post-ceremony march, Jena and Jake took the chance to have group photos with their guests in front of the hotel. After getting the best shots with the couple, their guests proceeded to the reception hall to have drinks and dinner. Jena and Jake sneaked out for a photoshoot before finally joining their loved ones and friends for dinner and speeches.

The next part was the most exciting. The whole wedding party went out of the hotel to the nearby beach for a sunset photoshoot. Jena and Jake held each other, hugged, and kissed while enjoying the golden hour. The resulting photos were just stunning! Finally, all of them returned to the hotel for a night of dancing and partying!
