Swiss Alps and lake as the backdrop of an intimate wedding in Bern
Swiss Bliss! We consider ourselves extremely lucky to have trusted Peach Perfect Weddings with our big day especially as two Americans getting married abroad. Vanessza was recommended to us by our venue, Schloss Schadau. From the beginning, she exemplified positivity, professionalism, and patience. She strived to ensure our day was exactly what we wanted it to be, and that our vendors met all expectations. She was organized in email communications and video calls, which helped ease our worry about an abroad wedding. Although the wedding planning process can be stressful, Peach Perfect Weddings made it stress free with having one contract through them and one payment schedule. On our actual wedding day, Vanessza had everything under control and a fantastic working relationship with all the vendors, who were also multilingual like her. We simply could not have had the wedding that we did without her and Peach Perfect Weddings!
Story
If you want it, don’t let anything stop you until you reach the goal. That was Mallory and Dillon’s mindset when they decided to fulfill their dream wedding in Switzerland. They were both from the US, and all their friends and family were. They knew it would be costly to travel back and forth to Switzerland just to arrange their wedding, so they had to trust a wedding planning agency to do everything for them.
All they had was that hope in their hearts that they would make their Swiss destination wedding dream come true. Fast forward to the spring of 2024, they were standing next to each other, in a lakeside venue in Bern, Switzerland, exchanging I do in their dream destination. If you want to know they reached that point, we invite you to keep reading.
Planning their destination wedding in Switzerland
Yes, it’s not easy to plan a wedding when you’re abroad, working and handling the daily affairs of life. That’s the case for Mallory and Dillon (and probably all the couples who are dreaming of a European destination wedding), but we are so glad that they reached out to us.
From the moment they told Vanessza, our wedding planner in Switzerland, that they wanted a scenic backdrop for their destination wedding, she already had a list of venues in mind. When Mallory and Dillon saw this lakeside castle in Bern, it was like love at first sight, and Vanessza immediately helped them lock the venue in.
The succeeding parts of wedding planning revolved around the couple’s choice of venue, and it’s wonderful how all the pieces fell in their right places. The lakeside castle that they picked had indoor and outdoor options for the ceremony and plenty of accommodations for their small group.
Vanessza booked rooms for the accommodation as well and coordinated with the couple’s desired suppliers. The whole planning process was not easy, but it went smoothly from start to finish.
About the wedding venue
This lakeside castle in Bern is notorious as a top venue for fairytale and nature-themed destination weddings in Switzerland. It’s ideally located located along Lake Thun with astounding views of the lake and the Alps.
The owners know that it’s a favorite location for destination weddings, so they made sure everything a couple needs can be found in their venue. There are regal salons for indoor weddings, lush meadows fronting the lake for outdoor celebrations, and luxury accommodations for unforgettable honeymoons and family trips! Surely, these features were more than enough to fulfill Mallory and Dillon’s wedding dreams!
Vannesza secured both an indoor and outdoor option for the couple so they will be ready for all kinds of weather.
The romantic day that was
This beautiful couple and their twelve guests arrived at the hotel a day before the ceremony and they had lots of opportunities to explore the venue. When the wedding day finally arrived, they all got dressed in the fanciest attire that they brought for this special occasion of Mallory and Dillon.
Thanks to the perfect weather on their wedding day, the couple was able to have the ceremony outdoors, with unobstructed views of the lake and the Swiss Alps. It was a beautiful symbolic ceremony with a minimalist wedding arc and an astounding natural backdrop. After the I do, the kiss, and the newlyweds’ march, they all proceeded to the meadow in front of the castle for a lovely wedding reception. Mallory and Dillon’s wedding day was all that they hoped for and more! With perfect weather like that, they were able to enjoy the views for the ceremony and reception.
The after-ceremony photoshoot
Of course, a destination wedding in Switzerland will never be complete without the couple’s photos with the breathtaking alpine scene in the background! The newlyweds proceeded to the best spots for their wedding photoshoot. Their loved ones joined them right before the photoshoot ended, for a fun and creative shot that will remind them of this wonderful experience even decades after Mallory and Dillon’s wedding.
