About this venue

Highlights

Picture saying your vows beside a ring of ten-meter basalt monoliths, the Mediterranean falling away at your feet. This is one of Ibiza's most striking spots to elope. It's tiny and intentionally so, and we keep ceremonies to ten people or fewer. Couples we've worked with have married here at golden hour, just the two of them and a guest or two. If you want a wild, art-filled backdrop with nothing fussy about it, it's among the most memorable places to get married in Spain.

Style

The architecture is the whole point. Thirteen solid basalt columns, shipped from Turkey, rise in a wide semicircle on the cliff edge. Twelve trace the planets; the tallest stands at the center, capped in 23-carat gold. Locals call it the Ibizan Stonehenge, or the island's sundial. There's nothing manicured here, no lawns or marquees, just raw stone, sea and sky. The look is monumental and a little mystical, modern land art set against wild coast. It suits couples who want something bold and unforgettable, not pretty for its own sake.

History

The monument is called Time and Space, created in 2014 by Australian sculptor Andrew Rogers. It belongs to his Rhythms of Life series, with sister works in sixteen countries. Guy Laliberte, founder of Cirque du Soleil, commissioned it near his Ibiza estate. The columns follow the Fibonacci sequence, and the gold-tipped center catches the setting sun on the winter solstice. Knowing the story adds weight to your day. You're marrying inside a deliberate work of art, not just a scenic lookout. Our planner in Spain can share the full tale with your guests.

Location

You'll find the site on the cliffs above Cala Llentia, in the southwest corner of Ibiza, within Sant Josep de sa Talaia. It sits high over a small cove, with open water stretching to the horizon. This stretch of coast is the island's quiet side, away from the resort towns and club strips. Ibiza Airport is roughly a 25-minute drive away, so guests flying in reach you easily. For couples weighing a Spanish destination wedding, few spots feel this removed yet stay this reachable.

Surroundings

The setting does half the work. Pine and low scrub frame the clifftop, and the rock falls to turquoise water below. On clear days you can see toward Es Vedra, the dramatic islet that rises offshore. A neighboring cliff even holds a companion artwork, a set of "doors" that frame the view. Hidden coves dot the coastline within a short drive, several with pine-fringed seaside dining. It's wild, uncrowded and quietly beautiful, the kind of backdrop that needs no decoration. Most who marry here simply let the landscape carry the day.

Transport

Reaching the monument takes a little intent, and that's part of its charm. It sits off an unmarked dirt track, well away from signposted routes, so it stays blissfully quiet. We arrange transfers for you and your guests, so no one's hunting for a turning on the day. The ground is uneven natural rock and earth, so flat shoes beat heels here. From Ibiza Airport it's a short drive, and most island accommodation sits within easy reach. Leave the logistics to us and just arrive ready.

Ceremony

Ceremonies here are symbolic, set out in the open among the stones or right at the cliff's edge. The space holds up to ten, though many couples come for a true elopement, just the two of them. One couple we planned for married at the cliff edge with two guests, a celebrant and a pair of musicians, vows carried on the sea breeze. There's room for a few chairs and a simple arch, nothing more. It's pure intention over spectacle, which is why our packages for weddings in Spain suit it so well.

Photoshoot

This is the most photographed monument on Ibiza, and once you're here you'll see why. The basalt columns frame couples like a natural set, and the light does the rest. Time your portraits for late afternoon, when the sun drops behind the sea and the gold-capped pillar glows. Our couples have used the cliffs, the turquoise water and the rock formations as ever-changing backdrops as the light shifts. There's no need for props or styling. The stone, the sea and the sky give your photographer everything.

Reception

There's no reception space or kitchen on site. This is a ceremony and photo spot, pure and simple, and that's easy to build around. After vows, couples we've worked with have moved on to a pine-fringed restaurant in a neighboring cove for a long, slow seaside dinner. Others head back toward the bays for sunset drinks and a smaller celebration. We help you plan the whole arc, from the clifftop ceremony to wherever the evening lands. The monument sets the scene; the island handles the party.
