In 509 AD, the castle was destroyed by the Franks who eventually rebuilt it for its undeniable beauty and historic value. The castle’s rich history includes hosting a kind, occupation by Verona’s ruling family from 1277 for one whole century, inclusion to the dominion of the Republic of Venice, and the conquest by the Empire. Several invasions happened after that, but in the end, the castle was reclaimed by Venetia, declaring it a national monument in 1902.
