Sepia tones for a sunny afternoon elopement in Frankfurt
We worked with Vanessza to plan an elopement just outside of Frankfurt. She was so helpful in planning and organizing our day. I can't imagine how difficult it would have been to do on our own while being based in a different country. The venue was beautiful and everything went off without any problems. I would definitely recommend PPW!
Story
From her sparkly wedding dress to her elegant jewelry, our bride was absolutely glowing on her wedding day. Her groom looks equally dapper with his black suit, bowtie, and neat-looking boxed beard. Thanks to their stress-free wedding, Julie and Michael only had to focus on looking perfect on their special day and maximizing all the fun awaiting them in their wedding castle.
Planning their destination wedding in Germany
As Julie said, planning a wedding from a different country is hard. There are communication and logistical challenges that you have to hurdle, not to mention the impossibility of physically checking your venue options to pick the right one for your special day.
For this reason, our bride and groom are very thankful that their wedding planner, Vanessza, did all the groundwork for them. She served as their eyes and ears in Germany to talk to the vendors directly and thoroughly check the venue to ensure it's as beautiful, complete, and suitable to their taste.
When Julie and Michael engaged Peach Perfect Weddings for wedding planning, Julie was still shopping for her dress so we had to wait a bit before she could tell the hair and makeup artist about the style that she would carry on her wedding. Nevertheless, everything went out smoothly - from her looks on that day, to her bridal bouquet, the ceremony, the photo shoot, and the romantic dinner.
They wanted a violin player to play during the ceremony, and the couple prepared a list of songs for the musician. Julie and Michael also requested for a special menu as they were both vegetarian, and the castle chefs were kind and prepared to customize their food according to the couple’s preference.
About the wedding venue
This 5-star castle hotel in Hesse is more than perfect for fairytale weddings. Whether it’s an intimate ceremony for up to 40 guests or a microwedding with only the bride and groom just like Julie and Michael’s, the castle is flexible to accommodate all wedding sizes.
It’s perfect for a romantic weekend escape with lovely gardens, an open terrace, beautiful indoor areas for intimate weddings and microweddings, a dining area for a romantic candlelit dinner, and a bar for cocktails and late night celebrations.
Having been in existence for many decades, you can expect vintage and historic interiors from this venue. The castle exudes a truly royal and elegant ambiance from its wallpapers to the smallest decor that you will find inside the castle rooms.
Above all else, we love that this wedding castle provides everything from the preparations to the ceremony, wedding reception, the accommodations, and even the couple’s honeymoon. Perched in the middle of the romantic Kronberg, the castle is located at the heart of a popular tourist destination, Taunus.
In a few minutes, you can reach Frankfurt, Wiesbaden and Mainz where cultural and historic attractions can be found. You can enjoy the whole Rhine-Main region for your honeymoon.
The romantic day that was
Julie and Michael got dressed and prepared for the wedding in separate rooms to keep the excitement for their first look. Inside the rooms, you will see the elegant interiors with classy wallpapers, antique furniture, and vintage decor.
After getting dressed and made up for their wedding, Julie and Michael had their first look in front of the castle hotel, with the building’s beautiful facade in the background. We love the warm colors on that day - the beige facade of the castle blending perfectly with the afternoon sun, creating a magical sepia tone for the photos.
The excitement built up as Julie walked behind Michael who was waiting for her go signal to turn around and see his bride. When they finally held hands, everything turned out even more beautifully. They hugged, danced, and kissed in front of the castle, then proceeded to the gardens for the pre-wedding photoshoot. The magical sunset palette enveloped the whole venue, creating a fairytale ambiance with the garden’s bushes and greenery in the background.
For their ceremony, they went inside the castle right at the library that evokes a royal ambiance. Only their celebrant, Yvonne, Julie and Michael, and their musician, DasCello Duo, can be seen in the room, while their wedding planner and photographer, Elis, worked behind the scenes. The ceremony lasted for almost an hour, with a genuine exchange of vows, a handfasting ceremony, and a candle lighting tradition.
Julie and Michael’s ceremony was short and sweet with no guests watching them, just beautiful violin music playing romantically in the background.
Post-ceremony photoshoot around the castle
Just before the day ended, Julie and Michael posed a little more inside and outside the castle as part of their photoshoot. The castle’s palatial interiors are on full display, thanks to the hotel owners' generosity, they allowed the couple to go around and have their photos taken under expensive chandeliers, vintage decor, and antique furniture.
For the final leg of their photoshoot, Julie and Michael went outside the castle while it was already getting dark. The castle’s imposing facade is still visible, but only the indoor chandeliers lit up the whole building.
A romantic dinner to cap the day
After tying the knot and getting enough photos to preserve the memories of their destination elopement in Germany, Julie and Michael went back to the castle's library to enjoy a sumptuous vegetarian dinner that they requested.
It was a romantic dinner for two at an elegant round table, with candles lit and gourmet food prepared for them. German wine was chilled to perfection, waiting for Julie and Michael to open them and cap the day with a lovely sip of authentic spirits.
