Vanessza is your elopement planner in Germany

"Creating meaningful connections with my couples is my favorite part of being a wedding planner — it’s such an honor to help them plan this beautiful life event!"

Kind words from our couples

"Vanessza was a consummate professional. The outcome of a planner is that you don't even think about the logistics of the day. I am completely certain that we would not have been able to pull off our wedding without her help. She even helped us with invoicing our rather difficult venue months after our wedding. If you're on the fence about hiring her, don't be. She's great."
Tara & Keenan

How to plan your elopement in Germany

Even though an elopement is certainly simpler than planning a big wedding abroad, thoughtful planning will still ensure that you are relaxed and stress-free on your day.

Got a date?

With an elopement you can be more flexible with your dates. Choose a date that is meaningful to you or let our planner recommend the best time to elope in Germany.

Choose your ceremony type

Symbolic ceremony, religious ceremony, or a legally binding ceremony? Your choice of ceremony type will influence your venue choice so make sure to tell your planner what you prefer.

Reserve your venue

Once you have fallen in love with an elopement venue, it is time to make things official! Tell your planner and she will reserve your preferred date for you.

Bring your vision to life

Choose your flowers and share reference images with your planner. Select your music, your menu, and anything you wish to make your day uniquely yours.

Cost of eloping in Germany

Choose a package that fits your budget for your elopement. By adding or removing services you can make sure it fits your budget.

Ceremony location

If you are looking for an outdoor ceremony location like the Bavarian Alps, chances are that it will come at no or minimal cost. For private venues like castles and villas, we work with venues of different price ranges and are happy to advice.

Vendors & services

We work with fixed prices for the services that are included in your package. This means you will always know upfront and straight away how much it will cost.

Season & day of the week

Popular holiday dates and dates in the summer time will increase the cost of most venues. If you would like to keep venue costs to a minimum, we recommend choosing a weekday in a shoulder season instead.

How many guests (if any)

Getting married with just the two of you will keep costs low and predictable. Any services for guests, such as styling, can be added on to your package.

Peach Perfect is Perfect! Our experience with Peach Perfect was fantastic!

Just the two of you, or with your loved ones?

Whether you decide to celebrate the day with just the two of you, or if you bring a handful of your closest loved ones to the adventure - our packages are flexible to make it happen.

Just two

A true elopement. An intimate celebration with just the two of you in a setting entirely of your own choice. Exchange you vows with no guests and no necessity for considering guest timelines.

The two of you + a handful of guests

An elopement does not have to mean that you cannot bring your closest loved ones with. Your parents, oldest friends, or the people you love most can be a part of your adventure. Logistics stay easy and usually there is no increase in venue cost.

A small group up to ~16 guests

A small celebration with a group of a dozen or so guests can still be celebrated in beautiful elopement settings. Depending on the venue, an additional cost might be necessary, but the day stays easy and intimate.

Travelling and staying in Germany

Germany has a good infrastructure and getting around - be it by car or by public transport - is easy and accessible. For places to stay, you can choose among a beautiful selection of boutique hotels, small family castles, or villas to your liking. We are happy to advice and find your perfect place to stay.

Arriving

The usual airports for international visitors are Frankfurt, Munich, or Berlin. From here you are well connected to reach all parts of Germany. Budget airlines might connect to smaller airports. If you prefer to arrive by train, we are happy to advise on the best place for you to arrive and advice on your route.

Getting around

For full flexibility rent a car for the duration of your stay and make use of the German Autobahn to get where you're going. However, if you have some more time on your hands, exploring the country by train gives you an opportunity to enjoy the scenery and the towns along the route.

Staying

Many venues offer on-site accommodation, especially if you are getting married with just the two of you or only a few guests. There is a great variety of places to stay in Germany that are full of character and history. Ask your planner for advice!

Travelling onwards

Germany, being at the heart of Europe, is a great place to explore other European destinations after your elopement. You can easily reach a number of our neighbouring countries in just a few hours by train or car. Flying is also easy and is often not expensive either, although we do recommend taking the train if you have the time.

Choose from one of our fully customizable all-inclusive packages, or create a fully bespoke package for any of the venues we work with.

The best season to elope in Germany

Each season in Germany highlights the beauty of this destination in a special light.

Spring

The best time to catch the blooming meadows and newly blossomed gardens in Germany. The temperatures can be anywhere from chilly to gently warm and spring rains bring a freshness to the country. Town celebrations take up with the first warm days and continue into the summer months. If you wish to get married outdoors in Germany, late spring is the best season for you.

Summer

The sun sets late once summer arrives here in Germany, bringing with it the perfect setting for courtyard dinners, dancing on the terrace, and swimming in clear Alpine lakes. Summer also brings tourists and locals alike to popular spots around Germany so for couples seeking privacy, we recommend privatized venues like villas, castles, or mountain lodges.

Autumn

Germany in autumn carries a particular mood. September still clings to summer with its balmy weather, and the vineyards bring in this year’s harvest. Just moments later, in late autumn, fog begins hanging low, leaves that were green just a week ago now turn vibrant gold and red. Getting married in autumn is best for outdoor ceremonies (with an indoor backup plan), vineyard tastings, and castles overlooking the changing natural landscapes.

Winter

Life slows down in winter here in Germany. As the stores close for the holidays, Christmas markets pop up in all towns, and the scent of mulled wine and sugared almonds fills the air. The winter months are best reserved for couples seeking a ‘hideaway’ atmosphere. Outdoor weddings are possible if you are prepared for snow.

Types of wedding ceremonies in Germany

There are three main ceremony types in Germany. A legally binding wedding ceremony, which must take place in certified locations, a religious ceremony in a church, and a symbolic ceremony which you are free to celebrate anywhere and anyhow you wish.

Legally binding

A legal wedding in Germany is possible but comes with bureaucratic effort. If you want to get legally married, we will guide you through the process. In Germany, only a civil ceremony is recognized as legally valid. This means a religious, humanist, or any other non-civil wedding ceremony hold no legal standing.

Religious

The common religious ceremony types in Germany are Catholic and Protestant. Churches and chapels are dotted throughout the country. Most castles also have a family chapel where you can marry.

Symbolic

A symbolic ceremony will give you full freedom of choice. From your location to the vows you speak. Our celebrant will guide you and help you create the ceremony that truly fit you as a couple.

Activities before & after your elopement in Germany

Seasonal celebrations

Christmas markets in winter, town celebrations that start with the first warm days, wine festivals and the famous Oktoberfest in autumn. Regardless of the season, make sure to catch the local celebrations.

Wellness the German way

Before your wedding day let yourself be pampered in one of Germany's sauna villages, mountain resorts, or thermal spring towns.

Exploring history

Germany's historic towns invite you to explore their quaint shops and restaurants, imposing cathedrals or centuries-old town castles. A guided tour can give you a deeper insight, but even heading out with just the two of you is a beautiful way to get to know your wedding destination.

Dining after your elopement

Dinner for two on-site

If you have chosen a castle or a villa as your place to elope in Germany, chances are you want to be treated to a beautiful meal right on site. Our planner is happy to make a reservation for you with your venue.

Dinner reservation at a local restaurant

Celebrate with your guests or just the two of you in a casual setting by heading to a local restaurant. German cuisine comes in all settings - be it a quietly elegant restaurant or a joyfully casual beergarden
