Aside from their cute little boy, the panoramic Amalfi Coast, and the cake they designed on their wedding day, this Italian destination wedding holds a special place in our hearts. Why? Because it beautifully showcases the joy of a destination micro wedding and a family vacation wrapped in one!
Family first from the very beginning
From their first call with our Italian wedding planner, Emily and Josh always had their family in mind. They envisioned a celebration of love with ten special people, giving everyone an authentic la dolce vita experience in a scenic Italian location.
When presented with venue options, they chose one perfectly suited for small weddings, offering privacy and breathtaking views of Amalfi.
A hotel with nostalgic gardens and breathtaking Amalfi views
This 13th-century hotel seems designed with intimate celebrations in mind. It boasts nostalgic gardens with private outdoor spaces, creating a romantic setting for Emily and Josh’s wedding day.
Perched high above Ravello, the hotel offers sweeping views of Amalfi’s elegant villages and pastel buildings. Emily and Josh instantly fell in love with the place, easily imagining their family gathered there for their micro wedding.
True enough, the venue not only set a romantic tone for the ceremony but also became a cozy home away from home for their loved ones.
A bride’s special request made even more memorable
Emily had one special request: a particular design for their wedding cake. To make her day even more meaningful, we went a step further.
She decorated the cake toppings herself during the wedding dinner, in front of her family. The joy on her face was priceless!
A day filled with love, laughter, and family moments
Emily spent the morning surrounded by her sisters, friends, and mothers, sipping cold lemon juice under the warm autumn sun while soaking in the magic of Italy. Meanwhile, in another room, Josh and their little boy enjoyed quality time with family as they got ready for the big moment.
The day was brimming with warmth and love, highlighted by a heartfelt first look between Emily and her father before he walked her down a stunning aisle: a circular path adorned with vibrant red flowers and a fountain at its center.
The aisle led to the cloister where Josh, their son, and their family waited, with views of the majestic Ravello mountains and the dreamy Amalfi Coast as their backdrop.
And perhaps the sweetest moment of all? Their little boy toddled up to Emily during the ceremony, gave her a hug, and promptly fell asleep in her arms- a picture-perfect, unscripted family memory that everyone will cherish forever.
On to the fun part - cocktails and dinner!
After the ceremony, the day shifted into a celebration of fun, laughter, and quality family time! Emily and Josh kept their bridal photoshoot brief, choosing instead to spend every precious moment with their loved ones.
Guests enjoyed cocktails and light bites on the hotel’s scenic cloister terrace, soaking in the atmosphere.
The highlight of the evening? A delightful surprise for the bride - a cake-topping ceremony where she added her own artistic touch to the icing and finished it off with fresh, vibrant berries!
