Brooke and Ryan’s Italian elopement

When Brooke and Ryan envisioned their dream wedding, they knew it required something truly extraordinary - a historic Italian hotel perched high above Ravello, with sweeping views of the Amalfi Coast. With just six beloved guests, they created an intimate celebration proving that sometimes the smallest weddings hold the biggest magic.

Ancient Amalfi hotel: A venue worth every mile

Coming all the way from the US, Brooke and Ryan had one desire for their once-in-a-lifetime celebration - a scenic Italian backdrop for their "I dos." And this ancient hotel, perched high above Ravello, did not disappoint.

Their ceremony unfolded with an incredible view of Amalfi's coastal villages and the crystal-blue Tyrrhenian Sea. This timeless hotel truly knows how to create drama! Add in the vibrant garden terrace, and you get a romantic scene worth crossing oceans for. It's no wonder Ravello is called the pearl of the Amalfi Coast - its historic charm and elegance make every intimate wedding feel like a fairytale. That's the reason this is one of our favorite wedding venues in Italy.

We weren't surprised that Brooke and Ryan chose this venue from the long list of options for their dream elopement in Italy.

Brooke and Ryan’s planning journey

They say you can't know the depth of a river without stepping in - and with their wedding day at stake, Brooke and Ryan knew they needed someone they could trust. That's where our destination wedding planner in Italy, Eleonora, came in.

Initially, they had doubts about marrying in a foreign country where they knew no one. But after their first call with Eleonora, followed by weeks of warm communication, they felt as if they had found a friend who would look after their best interests.

From venue selection to accommodation reservations, vendor coordination to timeline creation, Eleonora guided them every step of the way. That's the beauty of all-inclusive wedding packages in Italy. A dedicated planner handles all the details while you focus only on the parts you want to be personally involved in. This makes the planning process stress-free and enjoyable.

An intimate celebration by design

Brooke and Ryan's vision was refreshingly simple: just the two of them, surrounded by their closest family members - no wedding party, no extended guest list, just pure, unfiltered connection. With only six loved ones in attendance, they created exactly the atmosphere they wanted.

The couple reserved three charming rooms at the venue for the night before the wedding, allowing their small group to settle in and soak up the Amalfi ambiance together. This wasn't just a wedding day - it was a mini destination experience where every guest felt truly special and included.

By choosing to skip the traditional bridesmaids and groomsmen, Brooke and Ryan kept the focus exactly where they wanted it: on their commitment to each other and the breathtaking Italian setting that brought them together.

Getting ready for their Italian 'I do'

The wedding day began with a relaxed pace that's rare in traditional celebrations. After checking in and settling into their rooms, Brooke began her transformation at 2:30 in the afternoon. Her hair and makeup artists worked their magic while she enjoyed the anticipation building for the evening ahead.

Brooke chose a romantic hairstyle that perfectly complemented her elegant bridal look, while keeping the focus on her natural beauty and radiant smile. The couple decided against a first look, preferring to save that magical moment for when Brooke walked down the aisle.

At 4 o'clock, the floral arrangements arrived - an exquisite collection of lush greenery dotted with white blooms and delicate touches of muted pink. These soft, romantic flowers perfectly matched the timeless elegance of the venue and the couple's refined aesthetic.

A ceremony filled with music and meaning

As 5:30 approached, guests gathered in the hotel's stunning courtyard. The atmosphere was pure romance - the warm golden light of late afternoon bathed the ancient stone walls, while the distant Mediterranean sparkled like sapphires.

A cellist's melodic performance filled the air, setting an enchanting mood as guests took their seats. Brooke and Ryan had carefully curated a full playlist for the ceremony, ensuring every moment was accompanied by music that meant something special to them.

The ceremony began sweetly, with Brooke's father walking her down the aisle. Though short, it was deeply meaningful - a heartfelt moment as they exchanged vows in Italy set against one of the world's most romantic landscapes. The simple, minimalist wedding arch framed the coastal backdrop beautifully, proving that nature and history were all the décor they needed.

An elegant terrace dinner under the stars

As twilight painted the sky in shades of lavender and gold, Brooke, Ryan, and their six guests gathered on the venue's breathtaking terrace for dinner at 7:30. The setting was nothing short of magical - twinkling lights, the gentle Mediterranean breeze, and that endless view of the Amalfi Coast spreading out before them.

The evening began with a warm welcome from Brooke's mother, whose heartfelt words set the tone for an intimate celebration filled with love and laughter. The couple had selected the venue's elegant Tulip menu, with a few guests opting for tender beef fillet instead of the sea bass option.

Dinner was leisurely and joyful - the kind of meal where conversation flows as freely as the wine, where every course is savored, and where time seems to slow down. This wasn't a rushed event with hundreds of guests to greet; it was a genuine celebration where

Brooke and Ryan could actually enjoy every moment with the people who mattered most.

Capturing their Ravello love story

Immediately following the ceremony, while guests enjoyed an aperitif in the courtyard at 6 o'clock, Brooke and Ryan slipped away with their photographer. This was their time to breathe, to take in what they'd just done, and to capture the magic of their Ravello wedding.

They wandered the hotel's romantic terraces, stealing kisses with the Tyrrhenian Sea as their witness. The photographer led them through Ravello's enchanting cobblestone streets, where medieval architecture provided the perfect backdrop for timeless portraits.

Each photo told a story - of a couple brave enough to follow their hearts across an ocean, of love celebrated in one of the world's most beautiful corners, of a day that was authentically, perfectly theirs.

The journey was worth it

In the end, Brooke and Ryan experienced everything they had dreamed of - and more - on their unforgettable Amalfi wedding day. Yes, the journey from the US wasn't easy, but as they watched the sun set over the Tyrrhenian Sea with their closest family by their side, they knew that every mile, every planning decision, every detail had led them to this perfect moment.

Their intimate Ravello elopement proved that sometimes, the most meaningful celebrations are the smallest ones - where love, not logistics, takes center stage.
