Story

There’s something magical about Lake Como that mesmerizes couples from around the globe, inviting them to its shore for a romantic destination wedding in Italy. One of the couples who was captivated by Lake Como’s magic were Rachel & Joseph. They wanted nothing else but an intimate ceremony with Lake Como in the background for their wedding day. Keep reading as we tell the story of their Italian destination wedding and how we helped them turn their dream into a reality.

Planning their destination wedding in Italy

Like most of our couples getting married in Europe, Rachel and Joseph brought no guests for their destination wedding in Italy. They wanted a private elopement where it would only be the two of them reciting their vows with a picturesque lake backdrop.

They initially wanted a legally-binding ceremony, but the complications of a civil wedding made them realize that it was just not for them. In the end, we assisted them with a symbolic wedding with no paperwork or any hassle whatsoever.

Rachel and Joseph’s request was for an open space by the lake for their exchange of vows, which Mary, their Italian wedding planner, helped them achieve. She found a perfect venue that allows outdoor ceremonies right at the shore of Lake Como, but what they were most excited about was the boat ride after the ceremony.

About the wedding venue

This lakeside villa along Lake Como is a perfect location for couples dreaming of getting married with scenic Italian views in the background. The villa is known for romantic ceremony spaces providing full views of the lake and the picturesque buildings of Laglio.

The villa is ideal for elopements for two and small weddings because of its spaces for intimate celebrations. There’s a gazebo for only two persons for couples who are planning to have a simple elopement with no guests. There’s also a wide open space fronting the lake where intimate weddings can be held.

Couples can also have private celebrations indoors in one of the villa’s classy event rooms for intimate weddings. It’s a convenient venue choice for weddings along Lake Como since you can have the ceremony, reception, and honeymoon in one place.

The lakeside wedding ceremony

Despite the absence of any person on their big day, Rachel and Joseph’s wedding was beautiful and joyful. It was a warm yet cozy day with clear skies above, allowing the beauty of Lake Como to shine the brightest.

After getting ready in a different hotel, Rachel and Joseph spent their First Look at the open space of the villa with full views of the lake and the lovely Italian villages on the other side. They were in awe of each other and couldn’t stop smiling and marveling at the beauty in front of them.

It was four in the afternoon when the ceremony started and the sun was shining brightly as the lake sparkled under its light. They exchanged vows under the villa’s gazebo with vibrant greens all around. Just as they wished, the clear and glittering Lake Como was just behind them during the ceremony, and the scenery could not be more perfect.

The after-ceremony photoshoot

The moment they have been waiting for finally arrived. Rachel and Joseph rode a boat and sailed the whole afternoon to see this magical Italian lake up close. They loved how close they got to the buildings around Lake Como and how breathtaking the rolling hills were. It was truly a day to remember.
