Story

If we’re going to ask you what your idea of a perfect adventure wedding is, what picture comes to mind first? Many couples who love the great outdoors and a grad adventure are choosing Switzerland for their destination wedding and we’re not surprised. Some of your venue options include mountaintop hotels overlooking the Alps, villas with gardens offering scenic views of romantic Swiss lakes, and more. Réanna and Dustin’s chosen wedding venue provides both. Here’s the rest of their beautiful wedding story.

Planning their destination wedding in Switzerland

Unlike most of our couples, Réanna and Dustin are Canadian nationals, and all their guests were from Canada too. Despite the distance and the challenges they knew they had to overcome, they have dreamt of getting married in a picturesque Swiss location.

Gladly, they decided to book a destination wedding planner so they wouldn’t have to go back and forth between Switzerland and Canada, yet still fulfill their dreams. We got in touch with them half a year before their desired wedding date, and it had been a breeze to work with them in planning their big day.

Vanessza, their dedicated wedding planner, was in constant communication with the couple, asking the right questions, suggesting the venue and supplier options, and executing everything according to plan. She was Réanna and Dustin’s single point of contact for the suppliers and venue owners so the couple had no stress the whole time.

The couple had a symbolic ceremony, with no legal paperwork involved, which largely helped eliminate additional stress on wedding planning.

About the wedding venue

Swiss mountains are some of the best locations for an adventure wedding in Europe. Réanna and Dustin fell in love with a hotel atop the Swiss mountains with views of Lake Lucerne. When they saw the boutique hotel, they quickly asked Vanessza to book it for them for the ceremony and accommodations for them and their guests.

The hotel is surrounded by unspoiled nature and dramatic panoramic views that became Réanna and Dustin’s backdrop for their outdoor ceremony.

The romantic wedding day that was

Aside from being a celebration of love, Réanna and Dustin’s Swiss destination wedding was also a family vacation. They brought 13 of their favorite people from Canada, including their little boy who walked Réanna down the aisle.

It was a very emotional ceremony, with the couple and their guests tearing up as they exchanged vows and realized how their dream wedding had come true right before their very eyes. It was an intimate ceremony with their nearest and dearest, so they were unguarded, showing genuine emotions the whole time. Their loved ones cried and laughed with them as they celebrated this once-in-a-lifetime event in their lives.

Réanna and Dustin’s ceremony happened outside the hotel, with astounding views from all sides. The Alps were just behind them, and the lake could also be seen from the ceremony spot. On their left side was the picturesque hotel with a pristine white exterior and elegantly modern facade. From the backdrop to the views, and the weather, Réanna and Dustin’s wedding day was perfect!

The after-ceremony photoshoot

After saying their I do’s and having group photos with the whole gang, Réanna and Dustin had an amazing time with each other walking along the best parts of the venue. Their photographer set them apart from the guests and led them to the meadows, the higher part of the mountain with the best views of the Alps and Lake Lucerne, and to the towering trees at the secret spot in the hotel grounds.

When they had the best wedding photos, Réanna and Dustin went back to the scenic hotel terrace where they had drinks and dinner with their loved ones. That special day in September will definitely be remembered by the couple and their guests for all of their lives.
