Ceremony

St Finbarr’s Oratory is a tiny romantic intimate church on a lake in county Cork that can only seat up to 40 people (or 70 with some standing) in the most enchanting setting. Please note that in order to get married at this small church on a lake near Cork you must have a Catholic wedding mass performed by a Catholic priest. This can be a legally-binding ceremony or a convalidation ceremony whereby your civil marriage will become recognised by the church. No other types of wedding ceremonies are permitted. So if you’re a Catholic, this is a great opportunity for you to get married in a unique church on a lake in county Cork. Make your destination wedding as memorable and epic as possible by choosing this extraordinary location with landscapes and views you’ll never see elsewhere.

Surroundings

Give your wedding a feel of The Lord of the Rings or Game of Thrones by saying your “I do,” here in this one-of-a-kind church. Everything around this religious site is just breathtaking. You can see that from the photos. Old trees, a calm and quiet lake, mint green to dark green bushes, forest and rugged mountain views - scenic seems to be an understatement to describe all these things that you can see here. Albeit having simple and ordinary church interiors of white and light green shades, you will marvel at the facade of St Finbarr’s Oratory. This church on a lake in county Cork is filled with monochromatic tones of brick walls on its exteriors. Its solid dark brown wooden door tells you that this church is indeed historic.
