About this venue
Highlights
This 16th century tower offers a great indoor ceremony location for those couples wishing to be near the Cliffs of Moher (approximately 35-45 minutes drive away) for the photoshoot afterwards but guarantee total privacy and shelter from the unpredictable Irish weather. This medieval tower wedding venue is one of the very few towers in Ireland with a unique cylindrical shape and probably the only one with an unusual pyramidical base.
Ceremony
Enjoy the exclusivity and historic ambience that this gorgeous 16th century medieval tower wedding venue in Ireland offers to couples eloping here. You can have a microwedding for two or an intimate celebration with a few of your friends and family members here.
This castle in Ireland can accommodate up to 40 sitting guests in the Main Hall of the four storey tower. Additionally, The Minstrels Gallery overlooking the Main Hall can comfortably fit a further 20 guests or act as a stage for the musicians. Rental of the castle for a wedding ceremony includes: up to 26 chairs with 12 white covers for the first row, a white clothed table for the celebrant, a welcoming fire in the main fireplace, different sized candles throughout the room and - weather permitting - a red carpet at the door of the castle.
The ceremony space can be reached only via a steep, spiraling medieval staircase, so it should be noted that the venue may not be suitable for guests with mobility issues.
Reception
We recommend to continue the celebrations afterwards with a delicious meal at Gregan’s Castle Hotel which has a multiple-award-winning restaurant onsite, as well as its own intimate pub. Choosing these places for your after-ceremony party is the most amazing way to cap your awesome destination elopement.
Photoshoot
Right after the ceremony, you have plenty of photographic opportunities inside and outside the castle. You can roam around its beautiful interiors that evoke authentic medieval ambience. Climb up to the highest part of this scenic castle and you’ll be amazed at the view that awaits you. No less than the unique landscape of Burren will meet your eye - a mix of healthy-growing greeneries and glaciated landforms that are a pre-historic mark of the region. Walk along the grounds outside the tower where beautiful trees and vibrant bushes are aligned to frame your photo perfectly. Drive a little further and you can take photos in the popular and scenic Cliffs of Moher.
