Story

Joanna and David described themselves as a couple that’s simply meant to be. They worked together at the same location for 17 long years without knowing that the love of their life was just around the corner. Little did they know, their paths would cross, and from the time that it happened, Joanna and David have never been apart. They are just grateful to have met each other and fallen in love.

The decision to fly to Northern Ireland

While thinking about their wedding day, Joanna and David decided to have something just for the two of them, and they knew it had to be very special. They wanted to create amazing memories for a lifetime, and Northern Ireland spoke to them both as a perfect location to make amazing memories. They fell in love right at the moment that they saw Dunluce Castle, which made it easy for them to decide to fly to Northern Ireland for an adventure wedding like no other.

Wedding planning in the midst of a pandemic

As early as January, 2020 Joanna and David signed a contract with Peach Perfect Weddings for their supposed destination elopement in Northern Ireland in May, 2020. However, just like millions of other couples from around the world, all of their plans were shattered when lockdowns and travel restrictions started rolling out in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.

While waiting for that special day, their dedicated wedding planner, Lorraine, took the time and kept in touch with them all the way, never letting them lose sight of their dream ceremony.

The big day near a century-old castle

Their planned destination wedding was postponed for another two years, until finally, Joanna and David got married in May, 2022 at the top of a cliff in Northern Ireland.

Their wedding was as romantic and epic as it can get. How can it not be when they recited their vows on top of a cliff overlooking the North Atlantic Sea just a few steps away from an iconic castle built centuries ago?

Every minute of their wedding day was absolutely magical - from the birds flying overhead as the ceremony went on, to the look in each other’s eyes, and their wonderful local friends who surrounded them that memorable day! The long wait was truly worth it!

A romantic dinner after the ceremony

To cap off their successful wedding ceremony, Joanna and David had a wonderful dinner at the restaurant, bar, and inn where they stayed the whole time they were in Northern Ireland. The staff prepared a private table just for them, and the food was amazing!

It was definitely a day to remember for this couple. If you envision something similar for your big day, maybe it's time to discover the nature spots and venues in Northern Ireland where you can get married.
