About this venue
Highlights
This luxury medieval castle in Perigord originates back to the 14th century and is listed as a historic monument that has remained to the same family for over 600 years. This typical Périgourdin chateau is unlike any other, not only because of the chapel within its grounds, but because of its garden à la française or a formal French garden that’s based on symmetry and the imposing order of nature principle.
Ceremony
For your wedding celebration, this luxury medieval castle in Perigord offers several locations to hold the ceremony: a chapel located within the chateau, a spacious courtyard, a long alleyway of trees in the park grounds or underneath an ancient olive tree in the garden. All the outdoor spots for the ceremony lend the view of the nature-packed hills on one side and the tranquil grounds of this medieval castle in Perigord on the other. The spacious courtyard in front of the main building will give you a backdrop of this chateau's medieval facade. The alleyway of trees is perfect for couples who elope to France without bringing any guests with them. This spot can also comfortably accommodate a handful of friends and family to witness your exchange of wedding vows.
Surroundings
As an old medieval castle, it is one of the few country estates in France that follow this classic style of a formal garden. As you walk along the outskirts of the castle, you’ll see huge circular bushes that are twice the height of a human being, scattered around the venue. There are tall cylindrical and quadrilateral bushes too. This landscaping style fits the medieval facade of all the buildings located inside.
Accommodation
The estate offers four types of accommodation. Nine en-suite double bedrooms in the main chateau with lavish interiors, a converted tobacco barn studio for two to four people, six bedrooms in cottages just a short 3-minute drive from the main chateau and six medieval-style tents installed in the park of the chateau. There’s also a mini cottage that houses two shower rooms. However, the minimum requirement for wedding hire is a three-night stay in one wing and annex consisting of five rooms inside the main chateau.
Reception
The reception can then be held outdoors in the courtyard or in the rear terrace of this medieval castle in Perigord. There’s also an indoor option in the converted barn that’s perfect for rustic or bohemian weddings.
