About this venue
Highlights
A 14th-century estate that produces one of the best wines in the area. This venue has an amazing setting with a 16th century wooden tower, elegant buildings covered in crawling greenery, and a nature-packed landscape that would make amazing pictures on the outside. You can’t expect anything less from an elegant French chateau that’s been operating for decades.
Location
This vineyard wedding venue is only half an hour away from Bordeaux. It’s very convenient to have all of your guests fly from your home country because of its proximity to the airport and train station. There are several hotels nearby where all of your guests can stay.
Ceremony
Aside from its convenient location, getting married in this French chateau is your best bet if you want to have a ceremony in the middle of magnificent French gardens with artistic and century-old sculptures. Like what our 2018 couple did, you can say your I do’s in the estate’s wide grassy area right in front of the chateau. Imagine having the elegant old building on the background, the unique wooden tower on the side, and the wide, nature-packed garden right in front of you while the ceremony unfolds. This outdoor spot is just so romantic and perfect for the green wedding you’ve been dreaming of! We highly recommended it for an intimate wedding of up to 20 persons.
Reception
With its own 67-hectare vineyard, a state-of-the-art winepress, and dreamy reception areas, you’d easily want this for your French elopement. The reason why we picked this vineyard wedding venue near Bordeaux as one of the venues in our destination wedding packages for elopements in France is because it offers several indoor and outdoor spots for the intimate reception. You can also hold a dinner reception in the Cantelys Hall, which is a 400 m2 space with a Renaissance fireplace and a 12-century beamed ceiling. It includes a great terrace and it can host up to 300 people, including the dance floor. This indoor spot is a wonderful setting for a rustic-themed, eco-friendly, or a boho-inspired reception because of the earth tones and natural elements inside. Another indoor option is the George Smith Room that can be used for wedding preps or as a playroom for kids. Pavillon le Thil is also a great choice as it is right at the heart of listed grounds. It can seat up a range of 160-200 guests.
Privacy
You can have this amazing venue for €5,300 per day, including the use of the gardens. It can also be more economic if you choose to get married on a weekday.
