Scenic terrace elopement atop a medieval town in Nice
If you're thinking of using Peach Perfect for your wedding, don't hesitate. My husband and I had the most amazing experience working with Philip for our wedding in Eze, France this past July 22'. We booked our wedding pre-pandemic and Philip kept touch with us for literally 2 years while we rescheduled. He feels like a part of our family now. Not only was the pre-planning very easy and exciting but we were given fabulous options for both location and vendors. Our photographer, Kristine is world class. The day of was flawless and we would not have changed anything. After a long awaited trip / wedding we were so happy and would recommend Peach Perfect and specifically Philip to everyone!
Story
When you’re longing for a trip to France with the love of your life and then decide to tie the knot while fulfilling that travel goal, you’re certainly off to a great adventure! There’s nothing more exciting than saying “I do” while adoring the views of your dream French destination. This is exactly what Jessica and Daryl did when they eloped to France in the summer of 2022.
They achieved two goals in one trip - fulfilling their long-awaited trip to France and getting married in their dream French destination. Here’s the rest of the story of their beautiful French elopement.
Planning their destination wedding in France
Planning Jessica and Daryl’s destination wedding was not easy. We started working with them just before the pandemic; the original wedding date was in the summer of 2020.
As you all know, the pandemic made it impossible for the wedding to push through on the original date, and while we were clueless about when the restrictions would be lifted, we stayed in touch with the couple the whole waiting game.
Although it was an undesirable delay, the pandemic helped the couple and us to make their French elopement the best that it could be.
The couple had more time to think about the best venue, the best travel arrangements, and the best itinerary for their trip to France.
It helped a lot that Jessica and Daryl’s requests were not so difficult to achieve. They wanted an elopement for two with zero guests with only the celebrant and the photographer with them in their private, sincere, and stress-free ceremony.
We recommended some venues that are suitable for French elopements, and they picked a lovely chateau that offers beautiful views of the French Riviera.
About the wedding venue
Jessica and Daryl fell in love with this boutique chateau-slash-hotel sitting above the hills of the medieval town of Èze, and it did not come as a surprise.
The venue is ideal, with an impressive location above the hills, overlooking the Mediterranean Sea and the billionaires’ enclave, Saint-Jean-Cap Ferrat. It’s very convenient to visit Monaco and Nice from the venue, which is 15-20 minutes away from famous French towns.
Perched on a hilltop along the coastline of Côte d’Azur, the chateau is considered one of the most romantic hotels in Europe. All suites and its terraces for weddings offer breathtaking sea views all year round.
For couples getting married here, that means having the best views of this prestigious French destination in the background for their dreamy wedding ceremony.
The bride’s wedding dress
Jessica’s dress was uniquely stunning, and it’s nowhere similar to the bridal dresses you’ll often see. Instead of a long gown with a dramatic train, Jessica wore a short, plain white bridal dress, slightly above the knee, with an elegant halter neckline.
The dress was relaxed, refined, sophisticated, and rebellious - a perfect representation of modern, adventurous brides.
The romantic wedding day that was
The day started inside the regal suite that Jessica and Daryl booked for their French elopement and honeymoon.
The room was medieval, with stone walls and large palatial windows overlooking the Mediterranean Sea and the old French village. Adorned with antique furnishings, it has a completely historic ambiance that made Jessica and Daryl’s preparations extra special.
After the preps and a short pre-wedding photoshoot, the couple went up to the terrace for the long-awaited elopement ceremony. Everything was perfect for the couple’s big day. The scenery was surreal, with the Mediterranean sea in full view and the medieval village right under their feet.
Jessica and Daryl had a short but meaningful ceremony, with no other guests but the celebrant and the photographer witnessing their exchange of vows. You can tell that the couple prepared for this moment as they held and read their printed vows instead of just reading them from their mobile phones. The ring and kiss traditions followed, but the exchange of vows was the most special moment of Jessica and Daryl’s wedding.
The after-ceremony photoshoot
When you’re getting married in a scenic European destination like the French Riviera, you’ve got to have a lot of wedding photos! Jessica and Daryl knew this so well, and they spent the whole afternoon of their wedding day on their after-ceremony photoshoot.
They visited several impressive spots in Èze, including a botanical garden with towering cacti and rare plant species, charming cafes near the chateau, the narrow cobbled streets of the medieval town, and several vantage points atop the hill offering breathtaking views of the sea and the historic village.
Their short trip around Èze lasted until sunset, and it was worth it. Jessica and Daryl’s elopement photos were amazing, and these images will surely take the couple back to this special day when they took the leap and flew to France for an enthralling destination wedding.
