Patrícia and PPW have been absolutely fantastic and we are so thankful for everything that they have done throughout the wedding process. Two weeks ago we had the perfect day at Our Quinta, which genuinely couldn’t have been better – a lot of that was because of Patrícia. We began this whole process completely unsure where to begin but very quickly had a zoom call with Patrícia. She was very friendly and positive and took a lot of time to go through our preferences, we discussed the possible options that may be available and began to formulate a plan. Patrícia was caring and attentive throughout the whole process and was present with us in Portugal when attending and viewing possible venues. She was extremely helpful the whole way through and kept us calm and confident the whole way through. We felt very well communicated with and were kept up to date frequently through the process. Nothing ever felt hugely stressful and this was down to the organisation and communication from Patrícia and PPW. Where there were times when we were unsure about certain parts of the wedding, we felt well directed based on previous weddings that had been planned by PPW. All of the vendors that were recommended to us were absolutely superb and contributed to such a special day. Our family and friends also had a great time having travelled over from the UK and many of them commented on how attentive Patrícia was alongside the venue, staff and vendors were throughout and we completely agree with this. This was the case throughout the whole process and we have so much to thank Patrícia and PPW for. We cannot recommend them enough and assure you that you that, from our experience, you will have an amazing day if you go through PPW.

Jonny and Joanna’s micro wedding in Portugal

When Jonny and Joanna began dreaming of their intimate wedding in Portugal, they had a vision but weren't quite sure where to start.

The UK-based couple knew they wanted something intimate and romantic, far from the hustle of everyday life, where they could celebrate with their closest family and friends in a setting that felt both elegant and authentic. What unfolded on April 12, 2025, was a beautifully orchestrated spring celebration at Our Quinta in Mafra that exceeded every expectation.

With the expert guidance of wedding planner Patricia throughout the entire journey, the couple experienced a stress-free planning process that culminated in a day filled with rustic charm, personal touches, and unforgettable moments.

From the symbolic outdoor ceremony beneath a thoughtfully designed floral arch to sunset portraits in vibrant flower fields, every detail reflected the couple's love story.

Their guests traveled from across the UK to witness the celebration, and the seamless coordination, attentive service, and stunning Portuguese setting left everyone talking about the magic of the day long after they returned home.

A journey from the UK to Portugal

Planning an intimate wedding from another country can feel overwhelming, but Jonny and Joanna's experience was anything but stressful.

After their initial consultation, Patricia guided them through every step with care and expertise, making the distance feel irrelevant. The couple flew to Portugal in late February for venue viewings, and Patricia was by their side throughout, helping them envision their perfect day at each location.

Her knowledge of Portuguese wedding venues and vendors proved invaluable, as she understood exactly what would bring their vision to life while staying within their budget.

Communication remained consistent and clear throughout the planning process, with Patricia keeping the couple updated on every detail and decision.

When uncertainty arose about certain elements, Patricia drew on her extensive experience to provide direction and reassurance. The couple felt confident in every vendor recommendation, trusting that Patricia had curated the best team for their celebration.

This collaborative approach of their destination wedding planner in Portugal transformed what could have been an anxious planning period into an exciting journey, allowing Jonny and Joanna to actually enjoy the process of creating their dream micro wedding.

The venue: Where modern elegance meets rustic charm

Nestled in the picturesque region of Mafra, Our Quinta provided the perfect backdrop for Jonny and Joana's celebration. This intimate venue masterfully blends contemporary sophistication with traditional Portuguese charm, creating an atmosphere that feels both polished and authentically rustic.

The property's natural beauty required minimal decoration, allowing the couple to focus on meaningful personal touches rather than elaborate styling.

The outdoor ceremony space featured a charming thin roof cover that offered just enough shelter while maintaining an open-air feeling and that coveted connection to nature. This unique architectural element added to the venue's rustic character without sacrificing the romance of an outdoor setting.

The surrounding grounds provided multiple picture-perfect locations for photographs, from manicured lawns to wildflower fields that showcased Portugal's springtime beauty.

The venue's layout allowed for a natural flow from ceremony to cocktails to dinner, with each space feeling distinct yet connected. Guests could enjoy the property's various areas throughout the celebration, discovering new corners and views as the day progressed.

This is one of our Portuguese wedding venues that combine modern amenities and rustic aesthetics, and create an environment where everyone felt comfortable yet impressed, perfectly reflecting the couple's desire for elegance without pretension.

An outdoor ceremony under spring skies

The ceremony took place on a beautiful April afternoon, with guests gathering in the outdoor space beneath the venue's distinctive roof cover.

The focal point was a simple yet stunning wooden arch, elegantly dressed with flowing white fabric and adorned with fresh white flowers and lush greenery. This understated design allowed the natural surroundings and the couple themselves to take center stage.

The symbolic ceremony honored Jonny and Joanna's commitment in an intimate and personal way, creating a moment of genuine emotion that resonated with every guest present. The outdoor setting amplified the romantic atmosphere, with spring air and natural light enhancing the beauty of the occasion. The ceremony's timing allowed for perfect afternoon light that photographers dream of, casting a warm glow over the proceedings.

As the couple exchanged their vows, their loved ones witnessed not just a ceremony but a heartfelt celebration of partnership. The intimate nature of the setting meant that every guest felt truly present and connected to the moment, rather than being distant observers. This closeness would set the tone for the entire celebration that followed.

Mint green and fresh blooms

The intimate wedding's color palette centered on fresh, springtime tones that complemented the natural Portuguese setting beautifully. The bridesmaids wore elegant mint-green dresses that brought a soft, romantic quality to the celebration while standing out against the white floral arrangements and natural greenery throughout the venue.

This color choice felt both modern and timeless, adding a delicate pop of color without overwhelming the rustic aesthetic.

The floral design maintained a cohesive elegance throughout the day, with white blooms and greenery creating a fresh, garden-inspired atmosphere. From the ceremony arch to the table arrangements, the flowers enhanced rather than dominated the spaces, allowing the venue's natural beauty to shine through.

The simplicity of the white and green palette created a sophisticated look that photographed beautifully and felt authentically romantic.

These thoughtful design choices reflected the couple's appreciation for understated elegance. Rather than following trendy wedding styles, Jonny and Joana selected elements that felt true to their personal aesthetic, creating a celebration that will look beautiful in photographs for years to come.

The mint and white combination provided just enough structure to feel intentionally designed while maintaining an organic, natural quality.

Capturing love in flower fields

One of the most memorable aspects of Jonny and Joana's wedding day was the photography session in the surrounding Portuguese countryside.

The couple escaped the reception briefly for sunset portraits, venturing into nearby grassy areas dotted with wide expanses of colorful wildflowers. These fields, bursting with spring blooms in vibrant hues, provided a stunning natural backdrop that captured the romance and adventure of their destination wedding.

The contrast between the manicured elegance of the venue and the wild beauty of the flower fields gave their small wedding album remarkable variety and depth. These images captured not just the couple but the essence of Portugal itself, the reason they chose this destination for their celebration.

The golden hour light filtering through the fields created ethereal, magazine-worthy photographs that will serve as treasured memories for years to come.

This photographic excursion also gave Jonny and Joanna a private moment together amid the celebration, a chance to step away from their guests and simply be present with each other in this beautiful setting.

These stolen moments, surrounded by nature's beauty, became some of the day's most precious memories.

A day perfectly orchestrated

From the afternoon preparations to the final dance, every moment of Jonny and Joana's small wedding flowed seamlessly. The day began with getting ready in the morning, building anticipation for the emotional first look with Joana's father at half past two.

The ceremony at led naturally into a cocktail hour, giving guests time to mingle and enjoy the venue's outdoor spaces before gathering for dinner.

The reception featured heartfelt speeches that celebrated the couple's journey, followed by their first dance as the celebration transitioned into a lively evening.

The couple slipped away for those magical sunset photographs before returning to cut their cake and continue the festivities. Traditional moments like the bouquet toss kept guests engaged and participating throughout the evening.

This carefully planned timeline ensured that nothing felt rushed, yet the energy never lagged. Guests from the UK repeatedly commented on how smoothly everything progressed and how attentive the service felt throughout.

Patricia's coordination expertise ensured that Jonny and Joanna could be fully present for each moment, confident that every detail was being handled behind the scenes.

The result was a celebration that felt effortless, allowing everyone to focus on what mattered most: celebrating love, family, and friendship in one of Portugal's most beautiful settings.
